Thassos White marble originates from the island of Thassos in the northern Aegean and is celebrated worldwide as one of the purest, brightest white marbles in existence. Its fine crystalline grain and virtual absence of veining produce an almost luminous, snow-white surface that elevates any interior it touches.

Cut into elegant arabesque (lantern) shapes and finished to a smooth hone, these chips create a soft, matte surface with graceful ogee curves that lend a timeless, artisanal quality to walls and floors. Each sheet is mounted on a fiberglass mesh backing, making installation straightforward and dramatically reducing layout time on large installations.

This mosaic is ideally suited for spa bathrooms, shower walls, powder rooms, and decorative backsplashes where a pristine white aesthetic is the goal. As a clearance or natural stone item, ordering a sample is strongly recommended to confirm color and finish match expectations before committing to a full order.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Sealing: Thassos White marble must be sealed before grouting and regularly maintained due to its bright white color and high porosity. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers to prevent staining and moisture intrusion. Because this stone is exceptionally white, consistent sealing is critical to preserving its pristine appearance.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop — never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based products), bleach, or abrasive scrubbing pads, as these will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe spills promptly, especially oils, wine, or citrus, as Thassos is highly absorbent and can stain quickly without adequate sealing.

Installation: Always use bright white thinset mortar — gray thinset can telegraph through the translucent white marble and permanently discolor the chips. Use non-sanded grout for the narrow joints typical of mosaic patterns and back-butter individual chips in areas of uneven substrate. Align mesh sheets carefully, maintaining consistent joint spacing for a seamless finish.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
