Why a brushed finish
Brushing softens the surface of natural stone with rotating abrasive brushes, creating a gently textured, low-sheen matte finish that feels worn-in and organic — without the rougher edges of a tumbled finish. The subtle texture adds slip resistance underfoot, hides wear and etching better than polished stone, and brings out the natural color and depth of the material. Care & install: These are natural, porous stones — seal them with a quality penetrating sealer (exterior-rated for outdoor use) and clean only with pH-neutral products. A brush helps work sealer into the textured surface. The brushed finish hides etching and wear better than polished stone and adds slip resistance. Natural variation in tone is part of the character; order a sample to feel the texture, and blend tiles from multiple boxes.
