Sealing: Nero Marquina marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and kitchen backsplashes. Although the dark color masks some staining, the honed finish is more porous than polished and benefits greatly from consistent sealing to protect against moisture and oils.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe up spills promptly, especially acidic substances like wine, coffee, or citrus juice, which can etch the marble even through a sealer.

Installation: Use a white or gray polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any bleed-through that could discolor the stone. Align mesh sheets carefully edge-to-edge before setting to maintain the continuous herringbone pattern across the field. Use non-sanded grout for the tight joints between chips, and back-butter each sheet lightly for improved adhesion on wall installations.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
