Sealing: Limestone is a porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and before first use. Apply a penetrating stone sealer appropriate for honed limestone, and reseal every 12 months in wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors. The matte honed surface is more absorbent than polished stone, making consistent sealing especially important to guard against moisture and stain penetration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or cloth. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products, or bathroom acid descalers), bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and permanently damage the honed limestone surface. Wipe up spills — especially oils, wine, and acidic liquids — promptly to prevent staining.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the cream-toned stone. Apply non-sanded grout for the small mosaic joints to achieve clean, even lines and minimize cracking. Align mesh sheets carefully during layout, leaving consistent grout joint spacing between sheets. Back-butter individual chips or heavily comb the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent lippage, particularly on floor applications.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
