Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a penetrating stone sealer. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 6–12 months to protect against moisture, staining, and mineral deposits. The white base of this stone is particularly susceptible to discoloration if left unsealed.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe spills promptly, especially oils, wine, and acidic liquids, which can penetrate and stain the stone rapidly.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray adhesive from telegraphing through the pale stone. Apply non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch to protect chip edges. Lay mesh sheets face-up on a flat surface and check alignment between sheets before setting. Back-butter individual chips at sheet edges and corners to ensure full adhesive coverage and prevent lippage.
