Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a premium penetrating stone sealer. In wet areas such as showers, reapply sealer every 6–12 months to protect against moisture infiltration and staining. The warm cream and white tones of this stone are particularly susceptible to discoloration from oils, soaps, and minerals, so consistent sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or ammonia-based products, as acidic or alkaline cleaners will etch and dull the honed marble surface. Wipe up spills immediately, especially oils, wine, and coffee. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads which can scratch the matte surface; a soft microfiber cloth or mop is recommended for routine cleaning.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey adhesive from telegraphing through the lighter marble chips. For the small mosaic joints typical of this format, use a non-sanded grout in a warm white or light greige tone to complement the veining. Align mesh sheets carefully before setting to maintain consistent pattern geometry across the field; back-butter individual chips on larger sheets for full coverage and a secure bond. Allow full cure before grouting.

Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
