Sealing: Nero Marquina marble must be sealed before grouting and periodically thereafter. Although its dense black surface is less porous than lighter marbles, white grout haze can permanently stain the stone if unsealed. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer and reseal every 12–18 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or plain warm water and a soft cloth or mop. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners — these will etch the honed surface and dull its finish. Wipe spills promptly, especially acidic liquids like wine, coffee, or citrus juice.

Installation: Use a white or light gray polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any bleed-through on the stone face. Back-butter each tile for full coverage, especially important at edges. For a clean grid pattern, use consistent 1/16" spacers. Apply grout only after sealing; use a non-sanded or fine-sanded grout depending on joint width, and seal grout lines after curing.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
