Sealing: Botticino marble in a honed finish is more porous than polished stone and must be sealed with a premium penetrating stone sealer before installation and grouting. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, re-seal every 6–12 months to maintain stain and moisture resistance. In dry areas such as living rooms or foyers, re-seal annually or as needed based on a water-bead test.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or warm water and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and any abrasive scrubbing pads, as these will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe up spills — especially oils, wine, and citrus juices — immediately to prevent absorption into the stone. Do not use steam mops on honed marble.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on this light-colored stone. Back-butter each 24×24 tile fully in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to achieve full coverage and prevent hollow spots under the large format. Use tile leveling clips to maintain consistent grout joint width and a perfectly flat plane. Allow a minimum 1/8-inch grout joint to accommodate natural stone dimensional variation; use an unsanded or fine-sanded grout in a matching warm beige tone.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
