Breccia Grigio is a premium Italian breccia marble defined by its dramatic mosaic of grey, taupe, cream, and charcoal stone fragments held together by sweeping calcite veins. Quarried in Italy, it carries the timeless geological character of true breccia stone — bold, fractured, and entirely one-of-a-kind in its patterning.

Finished with a refined hone, the surface is smooth and matte with a subtle luminosity that brings out the stone's complex tonal range without harsh reflections. The 12×24 format provides a versatile, large-scale canvas that minimizes grout joints and allows the dramatic breccia pattern to read as a cohesive, flowing surface across walls and floors.

Breccia Grigio is an excellent choice for master bathroom walls, shower surrounds, fireplace feature walls, and upscale kitchen backsplashes. As with all natural marble, we recommend ordering a sample to confirm color suitability in your space and sealing the surface prior to installation for lasting protection.

Sealing: Breccia Grigio marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and immediately after installation. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 6–12 months to prevent moisture penetration and staining. The honed finish, while more forgiving than polished marble, is still porous and will absorb oils and liquids if left unsealed.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or microfiber cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and bleach, all of which will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe up spills — particularly oils, wine, and coffee — promptly to prevent absorption into the stone.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey adhesive from telegraphing through the light stone. Back-butter each tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate for full coverage and to minimize hollow spots in large-format tiles. A 1/8" to 3/16" grout joint is recommended; use an unsanded or fine-sanded grout matched to the stone's tones. Ensure a flat, level substrate — large-format marble tiles are unforgiving of substrate irregularities.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages

Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
