About Crema Dolomiti Limestone 12×24 Striated Chiseled Tile

Material Education

Crema Dolomiti is a warm-toned limestone quarried in Europe, prized for its soft creamy beige background laced with subtle linear striations and gentle fossilized detailing. The stone's natural layering creates a rhythmic, organic texture that catches light differently across its surface, lending each tile a quiet, earthy sophistication. Its muted palette ranges from pale ivory to warm wheat, occasionally accented by faint grey or taupe veining.

As a genuine natural stone, no two tiles are exactly alike — slight differences in tone, fossil markings, and striation density are hallmarks of authentic Crema Dolomiti limestone and contribute to the character of a finished installation.

About this tile: This 12×24 field tile features a striated chiseled finish — the surface has been hand-worked or machine-textured along its natural linear grain, producing a deeply tactile, rustic face with lightly dressed edges that enhance its artisanal appeal.

Design & Inspiration

Crema Dolomiti's warm ivory and beige tones pair beautifully with brushed brass or bronze fixtures, natural white oak cabinetry, linen textiles, and soft warm whites, making it an ideal choice for Mediterranean, Tuscan, transitional, and relaxed contemporary interiors. Its earthy warmth also complements terracotta accents, woven rattan, and aged iron hardware for a more rustic or biophilic aesthetic.

The 12×24 format laid in a vertical stack or offset brick pattern visually elongates walls and adds architectural scale, while the chiseled striated surface introduces rich depth and shadow play that a honed or polished finish simply cannot replicate. This format is equally effective on floors, where the textured face provides natural slip resistance and an organic, hand-crafted feel underfoot.

Popular design combinations: pair Crema Dolomiti chiseled tiles with a warm sand-toned grout, brushed brass wall sconces, and white oak floating vanity for a refined spa-inspired bathroom. This 12×24 tile is finished with a striated chiseled treatment that accentuates the stone's natural layering, creating a deeply textured surface with a handcrafted, rustic quality; the large format installs efficiently across wide floor and wall expanses, reducing grout lines for a cleaner look.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Crema Dolomiti limestone is a porous stone and must be sealed before installation and after grouting. Use a premium penetrating (impregnating) stone sealer and reapply every 12–18 months in wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, or every 2–3 years in dry applications. The chiseled surface texture increases porosity, so thorough sealer saturation is especially important.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or microfiber cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and anything containing bleach — limestone is calcium-based and will etch or dissolve on contact with acids. Blot spills immediately, especially oils, wine, and citrus juices, as the chiseled surface can trap liquids in its texture.

Installation: Use a white or beige polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through on this pale stone. Back-butter each tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full coverage across the large format and uneven chiseled back. Use a sanded grout in a warm sand or cream tone for joints; allow thinset to cure fully before grouting. For outdoor installations, ensure proper substrate slope for drainage and use a frost-resistant setting mortar in cold climates.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order 10% overage for cuts, waste, and future repairs. Tile & Mosaic Depot specialists are available M–F 8:30AM–5PM PST at 855-797-8453.

Why Order a Sample
A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

Good to Know

  • Samples are final sale — non-returnable and non-refundable.
  • We recommend sampling before every full order, especially for natural stone.
  • Larger or custom quantity? Contact us for a tailored quote.

Talk to a Specialist

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Questions Before You Order?
Call (855) 797-8453 or email sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5 PM PT. If you're unsure about freight access at your address, ask us before checkout — we'll flag anything that could hold up delivery.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.

Responsibility
Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. We are not responsible for installation, labor costs, substrate conditions, setting materials, product misuse, or damage from handling, sealing, maintenance, or chemicals. No claims, returns, or replacements are accepted on installed material.
