Ivory Travertine is a natural stone in the travertine family, prized for its warm ivory, cream, and beige tones layered with soft bands of movement. Travertine forms over thousands of years from mineral-rich spring water, which gives it a warm, organic character and the naturally occurring pits and channels that are part of its signature look.

Brushed & chiseled finish: The surface is brushed to a soft, low-sheen matte texture, and the edges are chiseled for a rustic, hand-finished, old-world look. This combination gives excellent slip resistance and a weathered character that suits both interiors and exteriors.

Honed vs polished: The honed finish is a smooth matte surface that softens glare, hides etching and water spots, and offers more slip resistance underfoot — a versatile choice for both floors and walls. A polished finish, by contrast, is glossy and reflective, intensifying the veining contrast but showing etching more readily.

Shipping Cost: This is a full-size tile, which ships at standard freight rates calculated at checkout based on quantity and destination. Free shipping is not available on tile or porcelain orders — it applies only to qualifying mosaic and molding orders.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Standard shipping fees apply to all tile and porcelain orders. Additional charges may apply for delivery to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Sealing: Travertine is a porous natural stone, so sealing with a quality penetrating stone sealer before and after installation is essential — and especially important for outdoor and high-traffic areas. Re-seal periodically to protect against staining and moisture. Outdoor installations in freeze-thaw climates should use a sealer rated for exterior use.

Cleaning: Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner only. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia-based products — these etch travertine and dull the surface. The brushed, chiseled texture hides wear and traffic well, making it forgiving in busy indoor and outdoor spaces.

Installation: The Versailles pattern repeats as a module of four tile sizes — lay out one full repeat as a guide before setting, so the pattern flows correctly across the floor. Some natural pits and holes are inherent to travertine; these can be left for a rustic look or filled with grout or stone filler. Use a wider grout joint suited to the chiseled edges.

Ordering note: This is sold by the square foot and ships as a coordinated set of four sizes that assemble into the Versailles pattern. Order roughly 10% overage for cuts, waste, and the pattern repeat at edges. Natural variation in color, texture, and pitting is a characteristic of genuine travertine, not a defect. How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
