The SL Gray 6×6 Pool Tile Series is a purpose-engineered aquatic tile designed for both beauty and extreme durability in permanently wet and submerged environments. Its cool, neutral gray tone brings a polished, contemporary character to pools, spas, water walls, and fountain basins of any scale.

Each 6×6 tile features a smooth, low-variation surface with a semi-gloss or glazed finish that enhances water reflection and resists staining from pool chemicals, algae, and mineral deposits. The square format installs quickly in a straight-set pattern with consistent grout joints, making it practical for large pool projects without sacrificing design refinement.

SL Gray is ideal for pool waterline tile bands, submerged pool floors, spa interiors, and outdoor fountain surfaces — and is rated for freeze-thaw climates when properly installed. Because pool tile must be ordered in complete lot quantities to ensure color consistency, we strongly recommend requesting a sample and calculating full project quantities before ordering.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Porcelain pool tile is inherently low-porosity and does not require sealing under normal circumstances. If grout joints are used in submerged areas, use a pool-rated epoxy grout rather than traditional cement grout — epoxy grout requires no sealing and resists chemicals and algae growth.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner or a diluted pool-safe tile cleaner. Avoid acid-based cleaners (including vinegar or muriatic acid at full strength) which can dull the glaze and damage grout over time. For calcium or mineral deposits at the waterline, use a non-abrasive calcium remover formulated for pool tile surfaces.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset rated for wet and submerged applications — verify the thinset is pool-rated and meets ANSI A118.4 or equivalent. For waterline applications, back-butter each tile and press firmly to eliminate air pockets. Use epoxy grout for submerged joints; standard sanded grout is acceptable for above-waterline areas. Allow full cure time before filling the pool.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
