Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a penetrating impregnating sealer. In wet areas such as shower floors, reapply sealer every 6–12 months. The honed finish is slightly more porous than a polished surface and will absorb liquids more readily, making consistent sealing especially important for this pale, light-ground stone.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop — never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus, or bleach-based products), as these will etch and dull the honed surface permanently. Wipe spills — particularly oil, wine, and coffee — immediately, as the honed finish on a white marble is more susceptible to staining than darker stones.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on the light marble surface. For mesh-backed sheets, press each sheet firmly into the mortar and use a grout float to ensure full contact across all chips. A non-sanded or unsanded grout is recommended for joints under 1/8 inch. Back-butter individual chips along sheet edges if needed to prevent lippage. Allow full cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
