Deep chocolate-brown marble threaded with cream and gold veining, supplied as an 18×18 polished square.

Emperador Dark is a Spanish marble with a deep brown ground and a dense web of cream, gold and ivory veining. The polished face reflects light and sharpens the contrast between dark and pale. Tan and white patches appear among the veins.

The 18×18 format means fewer grout lines and more of the pattern visible in each tile. Each piece covers 2.25 sq ft. It suits a straight-set grid on an indoor floor, a feature wall, or a backsplash.

Expect moderate variation (V3) from tile to tile. Samples are $7.99 each, up to 10 per order. Samples ship free, within 1-3 business days. Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Seal with a penetrating stone sealer before installation. Reseal every 12–18 months, and more often in wet areas. The cream veining is the more porous part of the stone.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft mop or cloth. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice, bleach and acidic cleaners. Wipe up wine, coffee and citrus right away.

Expect This

Acids can etch a polished surface and dull its sheen. Color and veining differ from tile to tile, so lay tiles out dry and blend from several boxes.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Where can I use this tile?

Use it on indoor floors and walls, including feature walls, bath walls and backsplashes. For shower floors or other constantly wet areas, check with us before you order. It is not intended for outdoor use.

Does it need to be sealed?

Yes. Seal it with a penetrating stone sealer before installation and reseal every 12–18 months, or more often in wet areas. Sealing helps protect the porous cream veining.

How do I order a sample?

Add up to 10 samples to your order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days.

How much should I order?

Measure your area, divide by 2.25 sq ft per tile, then add 10% for cuts and overage. Order it all at once so every tile comes from the same lot.

A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
