Calacatta Viola Marble2×2 Hexagon Honed Mosaic
Creamy white marble veined in violet and plum, in 2×2 hexagon chips on a mesh-backed sheet.
The ground is creamy white. The veining runs from soft lavender to deep plum. Some chips are nearly solid purple, others almost clear. The honed surface is matte and soft, with little glare.
The 2×2 hexagon chips come pre-arranged on a mesh-backed sheet, so setting and grouting go faster than placing single pieces. Every chip is different, so each sheet reads a little differently. Expect moderate variation (V3) across an installation.
Samples are $7.99 each, up to 10 per order. Samples ship free, within 1-3 business days. Your sample comes from the lot we have in stock now, so it shows that lot's actual color range and finish. Future lots may look lighter, darker, or more veined, so order your full quantity plus 10% at once to keep the whole job from one lot.
Where It Works
- Kitchen backsplashThe violet veining becomes a quiet focal point behind a range or counter. Seal before grouting.
- Bathroom wallA matte, low-glare surface for vanity walls and bath surrounds. Seal before grouting.
- Powder room feature wallThe small hexagon scale suits a compact room with natural light.
- Low-traffic indoor floorA dry, sealed floor such as a powder room suits the honed finish. Wipe up spills quickly.
- Shower floors and poolsWet-area floors and pools are not verified for this mosaic. Ask us before planning one.
- Exteriors and commercial floorsNot verified for outdoor use or heavy commercial traffic. Honed marble can scratch and dull.

Care & Cleaning
Seal It
Apply a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and again before first use. In wet areas, plan to re-seal every 6-12 months. The pale ground shows oils, soaps, and colored liquids if unsealed.
Clean It
Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner in warm water with a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, and other acidic or harsh cleaners.
Expect This
Honed marble can etch and show dull spots on contact with acids. Chips vary in color and veining, so sheets will not look identical.
Questions
Will my order match the sample?
Your sample comes from the lot we have in stock now, so it shows that lot's actual color range and finish. Future lots may look lighter, darker, or more veined, so order your full quantity plus 10% at once to keep the whole job from one lot.
Where can I install this mosaic?
You can use it indoors on walls and floors, such as a backsplash, bath wall, or powder room feature wall. Seal it before grouting. For shower floors or other wet-area floors, check with us before you order.
Does it need to be sealed?
Seal it with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and before first use. Honed marble is porous, and the pale ground shows stains if left unsealed. In wet areas, re-seal every 6-12 months.
How much should I order?
Order your full quantity plus 10% to cover cuts and waste. Buying it all at once keeps the job in one lot, which helps keep color and veining consistent.
How do samples and shipping work?
You can order up to 10 samples per order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days. Full orders of this mosaic also qualify for free shipping over $1,999.
Why Order a Sample
A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.
How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.
What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.
Good to Know
- Samples are final sale — non-returnable and non-refundable.
- We recommend sampling before every full order, especially for natural stone.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.
Freight Delivery — What to Expect
- The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
- Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
- Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
- Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.
Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.
Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.
30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.
Questions Before You Order?
Call (855) 797-8453 or email sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5 PM PT. If you're unsure about freight access at your address, ask us before checkout — we'll flag anything that could hold up delivery.
Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.
Before You Install
- Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
- Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
- Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.
Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
Responsibility
Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. We are not responsible for installation, labor costs, substrate conditions, setting materials, product misuse, or damage from handling, sealing, maintenance, or chemicals. No claims, returns, or replacements are accepted on installed material.
