Sealing: Travertine is a porous natural stone and must be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and after installation. In wet areas such as showers, reapply a quality impregnating sealer every 12 months to prevent moisture absorption and staining. For lighter ivory tones, a color-enhancing sealer can deepen the natural warmth while adding protection.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners — these will etch and dull the honed surface and dissolve the calcium-based stone over time. For routine maintenance, a damp microfiber cloth is sufficient; dry thoroughly to prevent moisture buildup in grout joints.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the lighter ivory chips. Align mesh sheets carefully, maintaining consistent joint spacing, and press firmly with a grout float for full coverage — back-butter larger border pieces as needed. Use a non-sanded grout for joints up to 1/8 inch to protect the chip edges; sanded grout may scratch the honed surface. Allow thinset to cure fully before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
