The chips are arranged in an elongated linear 'bastoni' pattern — reminiscent of stacked rods or sticks — combining honed, polished, and natural-cleft finishes for a tactile, multi-dimensional surface. Mounted on a mesh backing, each sheet installs efficiently and aligns cleanly, reducing labor time while achieving a truly bespoke, hand-laid appearance.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Sealing: All natural stone in this mosaic — particularly the travertine and lighter marble chips — must be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and after installation. In wet areas such as showers, re-seal every 12 months or as directed by the sealer manufacturer. The mixed finish surfaces (especially honed and natural-cleft chips) are more absorbent than polished stone and require diligent sealing to prevent staining.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water; never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch marble and travertine and degrade the sealer. Blot spills immediately — oils, wine, and acidic liquids are especially damaging to the lighter stone chips. Avoid steam cleaning, which can loosen grout in fine mosaic joints over time.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any adhesive color from telegraphing through the lighter chips. Apply non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch; sanded grout may scratch polished and honed stone surfaces. Back-butter each sheet lightly in addition to troweling the substrate for maximum adhesion. Align mesh sheets carefully before setting — the elongated bastoni pattern requires consistent joint spacing for a clean, professional result. Allow full cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Processing & Transit
In-stock orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Most tile and stone orders ship via scheduled LTL freight and typically arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on your destination. You'll receive tracking and carrier details by email as soon as your order leaves our warehouse.

Freight Delivery

  • Curbside delivery. The carrier unloads at the curb or driveway nearest your address; delivery does not include moving materials indoors or into a garage.
  • Scheduled appointment. The freight company contacts you directly to arrange a delivery window.
  • Signature required. An adult (18+) must be present to inspect and sign for the shipment.

Natural Variation
Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

  • Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
  • Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
