Sealing: Nero Marquina marble, despite its dark color, is porous and must be sealed before grouting and use. Apply a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and reseal every 12 months in dry areas, or every 6 months in wet areas such as showers. Even dark marble can absorb oils and acidic residue that leave permanent marks if unsealed.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acid-based product, as these will etch and dull the honed surface permanently. Wipe spills immediately, especially oils, wine, and citrus, which can penetrate and stain even dark stone. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the matte finish.

Installation: Use white or light gray polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent dark bleed-through on any lighter veins. Non-sanded grout is recommended for the narrow joints of this 1×4 mosaic format. When setting mesh-backed sheets, back-butter each sheet lightly in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure full adhesion. Align sheet edges carefully during layout to maintain consistent herringbone continuity across seams.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
