Sealing: Philadelphia travertine is a porous natural stone and must be sealed before grouting and after installation. Apply a penetrating stone sealer rated for travertine, and reseal every 12 months in wet areas such as showers. The split face texture increases surface area and porosity, so thorough sealer saturation is especially important — apply liberally and allow full penetration before wiping excess.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water using a soft brush or cloth. The textured split face surface can trap soap scum and mineral deposits, so regular rinsing after use in wet areas is recommended. Never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and erode the stone surface over time.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any dark adhesive from showing through the stone's natural voids. Back-butter each sheet in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full coverage on the uneven split face surface. Sealing & Care

Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
