Sealing: Cappuccino marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as shower surrounds. Despite its dark color — which may mask staining more readily than light stones — the polished surface remains porous and benefits from consistent sealing to prevent moisture infiltration along grout joints and edges.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft, damp cloth; never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and dull the polished surface. The high-polish finish is particularly susceptible to etching from acidic substances, so wipe spills immediately — especially in kitchen backsplash applications.

Installation: Use white or light gray polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any dark adhesive from telegraphing through the stone. Apply thinset to both the substrate and the back of each piece (back-buttering) to ensure full coverage on this slender profile. For grout joints, use a non-sanded grout in a complementary tone; allow full thinset cure before grouting and apply grout sealer after installation.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
