Sealing: Crema Marfil is a moderately porous marble that should be sealed before installation and again after grouting. In wet areas such as showers, re-seal every 6–12 months with a penetrating stone sealer to guard against moisture absorption and staining. As a warm ivory stone, it is particularly susceptible to discoloration from oils, soaps, and hard water — consistent sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and abrasive scrubbers, which can etch or dull the honed surface. Wipe up spills promptly, especially from coffee, wine, or citrus, which can leave permanent marks on unprotected marble.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray or dark adhesive from telegraphing through this light-colored marble. For precise liner placement, dry-fit and mark your layout before setting. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch to avoid scratching the honed surface. Back-butter each piece for full adhesive coverage, and ensure the wall substrate is flat and plumb before installation.

Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
