Sealing: Emperador Light marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before installation and resealed every 12 months in dry areas, or every 6 months in bathrooms and high-moisture environments. The polished finish, while dense, remains susceptible to staining from oils and acidic liquids without proper sealing.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Avoid all acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based products), alkaline degreasers, and abrasive pads — acids will etch the polished surface and leave dull spots. Wipe spills immediately, especially from wine, coffee, and citrus.

Installation: Use white or off-white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid ghosting through the lighter veining areas. Back-butter each tile thoroughly to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots, especially important for large-format tiles. Use a 1/4-inch notched trowel and maintain consistent 1/16- to 1/8-inch grout joints for a refined, minimal-joint appearance.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
