Sealing: Ivory travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed with a penetrating (impregnating) stone sealer before grouting and use. In wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, reseal annually or as needed — apply a few drops of water to the surface; if it absorbs rather than beads, it is time to reseal. The pale ivory color is particularly susceptible to staining from oils, wine, and dark liquids.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water. Never use acidic cleaners such as vinegar, citrus-based products, or grout haze removers on travertine — acids will etch and dull the honed surface permanently. Avoid abrasive scrub pads. Wipe up spills immediately, especially oils, coffee, and red wine.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent color bleed-through on this pale stone. Back-butter each tile in addition to combing the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots. Lay out all four Versailles tile sizes dry before setting to confirm the interlocking pattern alignment. Fill any open natural voids with a color-matched travertine filler or unsanded grout before final sealing. Use a grout that closely matches the ivory tone of the stone for a seamless, classic look.

Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
