Sealing: Marmara Equator's split-face surface is highly porous due to its fractured texture and should be sealed with a penetrating impregnating sealer before and after installation. For exterior applications or areas exposed to moisture, resealing every 12 months is recommended. Apply sealer generously into all crevices of the split-face surface to ensure complete coverage.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in water and a soft-bristle brush to reach into the textured surface crevices. Never use acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, as these will etch and degrade the marble. Avoid high-pressure washing on interior installations.

Installation: Use a polymer-modified white or grey thinset mortar appropriate for natural stone — white thinset is preferred to avoid dark bleed-through on lighter vein areas. Back-butter each corner piece thoroughly given the irregular split-face back surface, pressing firmly to achieve full contact. Align corner pieces with adjacent ledger panels before adhesive sets to ensure consistent coursing height. Allow full cure before sealing.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
