Sealing: Noce travertine is a porous stone that must be sealed before grouting and before first use. Apply a penetrating stone sealer to all surfaces prior to installation, and reseal annually in dry areas and every 6 months in wet areas such as showers and floors. The tumbled finish, while matte, is particularly susceptible to staining from oils and grout haze if not properly sealed.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or sponge. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia, or any acidic or abrasive cleaner, as travertine will etch and discolor. For the textured tumbled surface, a soft-bristle brush can help dislodge debris from natural pits and crevices without damaging the stone.

Installation: Use a white or beige polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any color bleed through the stone. Back-butter individual chips on larger voids if needed, and align mesh sheets carefully to maintain consistent joint spacing. Use unsanded or fine-sanded grout in a complementary earth tone for joints under 1/8 inch; fill natural travertine voids with grout or a color-matched filler before grouting the joints. Allow full cure before sealing.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
