Sealing: Silver Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and after installation. Apply a penetrating stone sealer to all exposed faces, including the split texture, ensuring full coverage in the crevices. In wet areas such as shower walls or exterior water features, reseal every 12–18 months to prevent moisture absorption and staining.

Cleaning: Use only pH-neutral stone cleaners formulated for travertine. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or harsh alkaline chemicals that can etch or erode the surface. For the split-face texture, a soft-bristle brush can help dislodge debris from crevices without damaging the stone.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent gray bleed-through on lighter stone faces. Back-butter each sheet in addition to applying thinset to the wall to ensure full adhesion across the uneven split-face surface. Use unsanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch, or sanded grout for wider joints typical of this textured format; align mesh sheets carefully and press firmly to seat all chips evenly.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
