Square travertine chips in patchwork blues, with touches of yellow, green and red, set on an 11.8-inch sheet.

Each sheet is a grid of square travertine chips, and every chip carries its own patterned motif. Cobalt, sky and indigo lead. Yellow, sage and brick red appear as accents. The effect is a patchwork of old tiles, built on natural stone.

Look closely and you will see the stone's natural pitting and texture beneath the color. Each sheet measures 11.8 × 11.8 inches, is 3/8" (10 mm) thick and covers 0.97 sq ft. It is sold by the sheet.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Travertine is porous. Apply a penetrating stone sealer after installation, and reseal as the sealer maker directs.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar, which can dull and etch the surface.

Expect This

Natural stone varies in color, pitting and texture from chip to chip, sheet to sheet and lot to lot. Mix sheets from several boxes during installation for an even spread.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Will my order match the sample?

Your sample comes from the lot we have in stock now, so it shows that lot's actual color range and finish. Future lots may look lighter, darker, or more veined, so order your full quantity plus 10% at once to keep the whole job from one lot.

How many sheets do I need?

Each sheet covers 0.97 sq ft. Divide your area by 0.97, then add 10% for cuts and waste. A 20 sq ft backsplash needs about 23 sheets.

How do I order a sample?

Add up to 10 samples to your cart at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days.

Does it need sealing?

Sealing is recommended. A penetrating stone sealer helps protect the travertine from stains. Follow the sealer maker's directions for application and reapplication.

Where can I use it?

Use it as a backsplash, feature wall or bath accent wall. For floors or wet areas, ask us before ordering, since suitability for those uses has not been confirmed for this mosaic.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free Shipping
Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
