Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble must be sealed before grouting and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers. Because this stone has a bright white base, a high-quality penetrating impregnating sealer is essential to prevent oil, soap, and mineral staining from penetrating the surface. Always test sealer on a spare piece first to ensure it does not alter the warm tone of the honed finish.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic product, as these will etch the honed marble surface and dull its appearance permanently. Wipe spills immediately, especially oils, coffee, and wine, as the white ground is particularly susceptible to staining on a honed (non-polished) surface. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads that can scratch the matte finish.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through on the pale white marble face. For the small 1×2 chips, use non-sanded grout at joints of 1/8 inch or less to prevent scratching the honed surface during grouting. Roll sheets face-up onto the wall and ensure full coverage beneath each chip by back-buttering the sheet lightly in addition to troweling the substrate. Align sheet edges carefully in a dry layout before setting to maintain consistent herringbone direction across the installation.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
