Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes. The white-toned background is particularly susceptible to oil and moisture staining, so consistent sealing is essential to maintain its brightness.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge; never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline product, as these will etch the marble surface. The honed finish, while more forgiving of water spots than polished marble, is still vulnerable to etching from acidic substances such as coffee, wine, and lemon juice — wipe spills immediately.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey adhesive from telegraphing through the light stone. Install sheets with non-sanded grout in a matching or contrasting warm tone for joints under 1/8 inch. Align herringbone sheets carefully before setting to maintain pattern continuity across the field, and back-butter individual chips as needed in wet-area installations for full adhesive coverage.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
