Sealing: Calacatta Oliva, like all light-colored honed marbles, is highly porous and must be sealed before grouting and again after installation. In wet areas such as showers, re-seal every 6–12 months using a premium penetrating (impregnating) sealer specifically formulated for natural stone. The honed finish is more absorbent than polished marble, making prompt sealing especially critical.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth or mop — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia-based cleaners, or abrasive scrubbers, as acids will etch the honed surface and alkaline products can degrade the sealer. Wipe up spills — especially oils, wine, and citrus — immediately to prevent staining on this light-colored stone.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray or dark adhesive from telegraphing through the light stone. Lay sheets mesh-side down and press evenly with a grout float to ensure full coverage and eliminate lippage between chips. Use non-sanded grout for the tight 2×4 mosaic joints (1/16" to 1/8"), and select a warm greige or white grout tone to complement the olive and taupe veining.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
