Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and after installation. In wet areas such as showers and backsplashes, reseal every 6–12 months to protect the light background from staining. The warm white base of Calacatta stone is particularly susceptible to oils, wine, and acidic liquids, so prompt sealing is strongly recommended.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers, as acids will etch the honed marble surface and dull its appearance. The honed finish, while more forgiving of watermarks than polished marble, is still vulnerable to etching from acidic substances and should be wiped dry after exposure to liquids.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any grey adhesive from telegraphing through the light-colored stone chips. Apply non-sanded grout for the tight joints typical of mosaic installations. Back-butter each sheet lightly for full coverage, and align mesh sheets carefully during installation to maintain consistent joint lines across the field. Allow thinset to fully cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
