Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating stone sealer prior to installation and resealed every 6–12 months in wet areas such as showers and backsplashes. As a pale, light-colored marble, it is particularly susceptible to staining from oils, wine, and pigmented liquids, making diligent sealing essential for long-term beauty.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap or mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline product, as these will etch and dull the polished surface permanently. The high-polish finish is especially sensitive to etching from everyday acids; wipe spills immediately and avoid leaving wet items directly on the surface.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the light marble surface. For the small grout joints typical of arabesque mosaics, use a non-sanded (unsanded) grout in a warm white or ivory tone to complement the stone's palette. Align mesh sheets carefully during installation, back-buttering individual chips as needed to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots, particularly in wet areas.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
