Philadelphia Travertine is a classic natural stone sourced from limestone-rich regions of Europe, celebrated for its warm ivory, golden-beige, and walnut tones with characteristic linear veining and organic surface voids. This jumbo wall panel format presents the stone in an oversized profile, delivering a sweeping, gallery-like impression that smaller tiles simply cannot achieve.

The honed finish provides a smooth, low-sheen matte surface that softens the stone's natural color depth while the sculpted 3D relief profile introduces a dramatic dimensional quality — shadows shift and deepen as light changes throughout the day, transforming a flat wall into a living architectural element. The large panel size significantly reduces the number of grout joints required, streamlining installation and producing a cleaner, more seamless visual result.

This panel is ideal for interior feature walls, fireplace surrounds, primary bathroom accent walls, hotel lobbies, and high-end retail environments; it is not recommended for floor applications or wet shower floors where the relief texture could create drainage and slip concerns. Sealing: Philadelphia Travertine must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for travertine and limestone. In bathrooms or humid environments, reseal every 12–18 months; in dry interior applications, every 2–3 years is generally sufficient. The honed finish, while less reflective than polished, is still moderately porous and benefits from consistent sealing maintenance.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft microfiber cloth or mop — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, ammonia-based products, or abrasive scrubbers, all of which can etch or dull the honed surface and degrade the sealer. Blot spills immediately, particularly acidic substances such as wine, citrus, and coffee, to prevent staining. Avoid steam cleaners on honed travertine as repeated steam exposure can open natural voids.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any gray bleed-through on the light stone surface. Back-butter each panel fully in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure complete coverage behind the large-format panel and minimize any hollow spots. Allow adequate open time and use appropriate tile spacers or back-to-back panel alignment to maintain consistent shadow-line gaps. Fill travertine voids prior to grouting using a color-matched grout or travertine filler to prevent debris accumulation in the relief surface.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Freight Delivery

  • Curbside delivery. The carrier unloads at the curb or driveway nearest your address; delivery does not include moving materials indoors or into a garage.

Natural Variation
Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

  • Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
  • Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
