Sealing: Travertine is a naturally porous stone and must be sealed before grouting and periodically thereafter. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer prior to installation and reseal annually in dry interior settings, or every 6 months in higher-humidity environments. The sculpted 3D surface has additional crevices that may trap moisture, so thorough sealing of all relief contours is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft cloth or brush. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus), alkaline degreasers, and abrasive scrubbing pads, which can etch or erode the honed travertine surface. Blot spills immediately, especially oils or wine, as the porous stone can absorb liquids quickly.

Installation: Use a white or beige polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid color bleed-through on the warm stone tones. Back-butter each panel fully in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure complete coverage behind the relief surface. Allow adequate curing time before grouting, and use a sanded grout in a complementary warm tone to fill joints; seal grout lines alongside the stone surface.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
