Polar Thassos White Marble1 × 4 Herringbone Mosaic, Honed

White Thassos marble in 1 × 4 chips, set in a herringbone pattern on a mesh-backed sheet with a soft honed finish.

Thassos White is a bright, clean marble with very little veining. The honed finish gives it a smooth, matte-satin surface that favors soft light over shine. The 1 × 4 chips are pre-arranged in herringbone, so the pattern supplies the movement and the color stays calm.

Each 12 × 12 sheet is mesh-backed and covers about one square foot. Sheets interlock for a continuous chevron run. As natural stone, chips can show subtle tonal shifts and faint crystalline patterning, which keeps a large surface from looking flat.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating stone sealer before grouting. White marble shows stains easily, so reseal as the surface stops beading water. Wet areas need it more often.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth. Skip vinegar, lemon, bleach, and other acidic or harsh products, which can etch a honed surface.

Expect This

Honed marble can etch and stain, even when sealed. Wipe oil, wine, and citrus spills promptly. Set the sheets in bright white thinset so a darker bed does not show through the chips.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Will my order match the sample?

Can I use it on a shower wall?

Yes, shower walls are a listed indoor use. Seal the stone before grouting and clean it with a pH-neutral cleaner. Shower floors are not confirmed for this mosaic, so check with us before using it there.

How much should I order?

Each sheet covers about 1 sq ft, so measure your wall area and add 10% for cuts and waste. Order it all at once so every sheet comes from the same lot.

Does it need sealing?

Sealing is recommended. A penetrating stone sealer applied before grouting helps protect the white surface from staining. Reseal over time as water stops beading.

How do samples work?

Order up to 10 samples per order at $7.99 each. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days, so you can check the white against your light, cabinetry, and grout.

Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
