Rondine Ardesie Taupe is an Italian-crafted porcelain tile that faithfully reproduces the cleft texture and warm, layered tones of natural slate in a durable, low-maintenance format. Its palette of blended grays, beiges, and soft browns creates a grounded, earthy aesthetic that brings organic warmth to modern and transitional spaces.

The 12×24 tile is finished with a structured matte surface rated R11 for slip resistance, providing reliable grip underfoot in wet environments while still delivering a refined, stone-like visual. Sealing: Porcelain tile is non-porous and does not require sealing. The grout joints, however, should be sealed with a penetrating grout sealer upon installation and resealed every 1–2 years in wet areas such as showers and bathrooms.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral tile cleaner and a damp mop or soft cloth. Avoid acidic or alkaline cleaners, bleach-based products, and steel-wool scrubbers that can damage the surface texture. The structured R11 texture may trap fine grit, so sweep or vacuum regularly to prevent surface scratching from debris.

Installation: Use a large-format porcelain thinset mortar with a polymer additive for proper adhesion. Apply using a notched trowel appropriate for 12×24 tiles (typically 1/2-inch square notch) and back-butter each tile to achieve full coverage and prevent lippage. A 1/3 offset (running bond) pattern is recommended; avoid a 50% offset with large-format tiles as it can emphasize any floor flatness variation. Use tile leveling clips during installation to maintain consistent plane. Match grout joint width (1/16 to 1/8 inch) to the tile's rectified edge.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. In-stock orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Most tile and stone orders ship via scheduled LTL freight and typically arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on your destination. You'll receive tracking and carrier details by email as soon as your order leaves our warehouse.

Freight Delivery

  • Curbside delivery. The carrier unloads at the curb or driveway nearest your address; delivery does not include moving materials indoors or into a garage.
  • Scheduled appointment. The freight company contacts you directly to arrange a delivery window.
  • Signature required. An adult (18+) must be present to inspect and sign for the shipment.

Natural Variation
Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

  • Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
  • Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
