The Cityscape Layers Gray Glass & Stone Mosaic Tile is a sophisticated mixed-material mosaic that pairs natural stone with glass tesserae across a rich spectrum of cool and warm gray tones. Inspired by the horizontal silhouette of a modern skyline, its layered banding creates a structured yet organic surface texture well suited to contemporary and transitional interiors.

Chips are factory-arranged in a stacked linear pattern and mounted on a mesh backing, allowing full sheets to be set quickly and precisely on walls. The combination of honed-stone matte surfaces and polished glass faces produces an ever-changing play of light that keeps the gray palette visually interesting rather than flat.

This mosaic is best suited for interior wall applications including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom feature walls, shower niches, and fireplace surrounds — note that glass-and-stone mixed mosaics are generally not recommended for floor use. Because clearance and specialty-blend quantities can be limited, ordering a sample first is strongly advised, and purchasing slightly more than your measured square footage is recommended to account for cuts and future repairs.

Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Seal the natural stone components with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and re-seal annually in wet areas such as showers. Glass portions do not require sealing, but the stone chips within the same sheet are porous and will benefit from consistent sealer application across the entire surface.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone-safe cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, and bleach, which can etch or dull the stone surfaces and cloud the glass faces over time. For grout joints, use a soft-bristle brush rather than abrasive scrub pads.

Installation: Install using white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid gray adhesive telegraphing through semi-translucent glass chips. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch. Align mesh sheets carefully, maintaining consistent joint spacing between sheets. Back-butter individual sheets in addition to applying thinset to the substrate for improved bond on wall applications. Allow full cure before grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. A screen can't show you how Calacatta veining reads under your kitchen lights or how a porcelain finish sits next to your cabinet color. A sample can. It's the single best way to buy stone or porcelain tile with confidence — and the cheapest mistake you'll ever avoid.

How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
