Absolute Black Granite is an exceptionally dense igneous stone renowned for its uniform, deep jet-black color and near-flawless surface — one of the truest blacks available in natural stone. Sourced from quarries in southern Asia, its tight crystalline composition sets it apart from lesser black granites that show grey tones or heavy mineral speckling.

Each 5/8×5/8-inch chip is polished to a high-gloss finish that delivers a reflective, mirror-like surface with maximum color saturation, arranged in a classic square grid pattern on a 12×12-inch mesh-backed sheet. Processing & Delivery: Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Large orders ship via LTL freight — curbside delivery only. An adult must be present to sign for delivery. Estimated transit: 2–10 business days after shipment.

30-Day Returns: Uninstalled tile may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Inspect all tile carefully before installation — installed tile cannot be returned or exchanged. Samples are final sale.

Exclusions: Free shipping does not apply to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses. Additional charges may apply for remote delivery areas.

Sealing: Although granite is denser and less porous than marble, Absolute Black granite should still be sealed with a penetrating impregnating sealer before grouting and use. In wet areas such as showers, reseal annually to maintain stain resistance. The polished finish helps reduce surface absorption but does not eliminate the need for sealing.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based), bleach, or ammonia-based products, which can etch the polished surface and dull its reflective finish over time. Wipe spills promptly, especially oils and dark liquids that can be difficult to detect against the black surface.

Installation: Install using a white or gray polymer-modified thinset to avoid any bleed-through on the polished surface; dark gray thinset is also acceptable and will be invisible if any migration occurs. Use non-sanded grout for the tight 5/8-inch joints to prevent scratching the polished chips. Align mesh sheets carefully during layout and press firmly with a grout float or rubber mallet beating block to ensure full contact with the substrate.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. How It Works
Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
