Sealing: Absolute Black marble, despite its density, should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating stone sealer before installation and resealed annually in wet environments such as bathrooms. The polished surface can show water spots and mineral deposits more readily on dark stone, making proactive sealing and drying especially important.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or plain warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid all acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus-based products, or bleach, which can etch or dull the polished surface. Dry promptly after cleaning to prevent hard-water spotting, which is especially visible on dark polished marble.

Installation: Use white or light gray polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any bleed-through on the polished black surface — dark thinset is also acceptable for this stone. Ensure the wall surface is plumb and flat before installing baseboards; back-butter each piece for full adhesion. Use non-sanded grout for tight joints (less than 1/8 inch) to prevent scratching the polished face during grouting.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
