Sealing: Silver Travertine is a porous stone and must be sealed before installation and after grouting. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for travertine and reapply every 12–18 months in wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors. The tumbled finish, while matte, still requires diligent sealing as it can absorb moisture and staining agents readily.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never use vinegar, citrus-based products, bleach, or acidic grout cleaners, as travertine is calcium-based and will etch and pit on contact with acids. Wipe up spills promptly, especially oils and wine. For the tumbled surface, a soft brush can help dislodge debris from the textured face without scratching.

Installation: Use a white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through on the lighter chips. Align mesh sheets carefully and butt them snugly to maintain consistent hexagon spacing across the field. Use unsanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch or sanded grout if joints are wider. Back-butter individual chips in areas with uneven substrate. Fill any natural travertine voids with grout or a color-matched epoxy filler before or after installation as preferred.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
