Sealing: Silver Travertine is a porous sedimentary stone and must be sealed before grouting and after installation with a high-quality penetrating impregnator sealer. For exterior installations or any walls near moisture sources, apply two coats initially and reseal annually. The natural voids in split-face travertine can trap moisture if left unsealed, so thorough sealer coverage — including all crevices — is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft-bristle brush to remove debris from the textured surface. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products), alkaline degreasers, or pressure washers on interior installations, as these will etch the stone surface and strip the sealer. For exterior use, a low-pressure rinse with plain water is safe for routine maintenance.

Installation: Use a polymer-modified gray or beige thinset mortar appropriate for natural stone; back-butter each corner piece thoroughly to ensure full coverage behind the irregular split-face surface. Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
