A grey honed marble in a 12 × 12 square, with white and charcoal veining and a smooth, matte face.

Silver Sky is a silver-grey marble with white and charcoal veining and soft beige notes. The tone moves from pale dove grey to deeper slate in cloudy patches. The honed face is smooth and matte, so light settles on the surface instead of bouncing off it.

The 12 × 12 square lays in a straight grid for a calm, even field. Honed marble shows etching less than polished marble, though it is not immune to it. Seal it before grouting and again after installation. It is sold per sq ft, and each tile covers 1 sq ft.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and again after installation. Honed marble is still porous. Reseal as needed, more often in wet areas.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop. Avoid vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, and ammonia-based products, which can etch and dull marble. Wipe spills promptly.

Expect This

Veining and tone change from tile to tile. Honed marble can still etch from acids and harsh chemicals, though it shows marks less than polished marble.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Does this marble need sealing?

Seal it with a penetrating stone sealer before grouting and again after installation. Honed marble is more forgiving than polished, but it is still porous and benefits from sealing.

How much should I order?

Order your full quantity plus 10% for cuts and future repairs, all in one purchase. The tile is sold per sq ft, and each 12 × 12 tile covers 1 sq ft.

What thinset should I use?

Use a white polymer-modified thinset to avoid grey bleed-through under this lighter marble. Back-butter each tile for full coverage, and use 1/16" to 1/8" grout joints.

Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
