Ivory Travertine12 × 12 Unfilled and Tumbled

Cream-ivory travertine with beige, caramel and sandy tones, left unfilled and tumbled for open pores and softly worn edges.

This 12 × 12 tile is unfilled, so the stone's natural pits and voids stay open. It is also tumbled, which softens the edges and gives the surface a matte, worn look. The base is creamy ivory, with beige, caramel and sandy gold shifting from tile to tile.

Grout will flow into the open pores during installation. That is expected with unfilled stone and adds to the look. Lay it in a classic grid or an offset pattern. Travertine is porous, so plan to seal it before grouting and again over time.

Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer before grouting, and reseal periodically. The unfilled surface has extra exposed porosity, so saturate it thoroughly.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and warm water with a soft brush or mop. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, citrus products and bleach, which can etch the stone.

Expect This

Pits and voids are part of the stone, and grout will fill them. Expect moderate color shifts and veining from tile to tile.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

What does unfilled mean?

You get a surface with the stone's natural pits and voids left open, which gives it more texture. Grout will flow into them during installation, so expect a slightly mottled look in the joints and on the face.

How much should I order?

Each tile covers 1 sq ft, so your area in square feet is your tile count. Add 10% for cuts and waste, and order it all at once to stay within one lot.

Does this tile need sealing?

Yes. Seal it with a penetrating impregnating sealer before grouting, then reseal periodically. This protects the porous stone from staining and moisture.

Samples are $7.99 each. Samples ship free and leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days. Sizes vary by material and availability — typically 3"×3" up to 8"×8" — and every sample is cut from the same material stocked for full orders.

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Free curbside freight on qualifying mosaic and molding orders over $1,999 in the continental U.S. Field tile, porcelain, and other product types ship at freight rates shown at checkout. Not available to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or international addresses.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
