Ivory Travertine Pencil Liner3/4 × 12 Honed

A narrow honed travertine liner in warm ivory and beige, made for crisp borders, niches and backsplash edges.

This trim measures 3/4 by 12 inches. The honed surface is matte, in creamy ivory and warm beige with soft caramel tones and the small pores that mark travertine.

Use it to finish a backsplash edge, frame a niche or mirror, or divide two tile zones on a bath or kitchen wall. The narrow profile adds definition without competing with the field tile. It is meant for indoor wall use.

Travertine is porous, so seal it before grouting. Samples are $7.99 each, up to 10 per order. Samples ship free and go out within 1-3 business days. Care & Cleaning

Seal It

Travertine is porous. Seal it before grouting and again regularly. In wet areas, apply a penetrating stone sealer every 12 months.

Clean It

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid vinegar, lemon-based products and abrasive scrubbers, which can etch the surface. Wipe up oil, wine and coffee promptly.

Expect This

Color, veining and pore pattern vary from piece to piece. That is normal for natural stone. Lay pieces out before setting to check the blend.

Tile & Mosaic Depot supplies material only. Installation method, setting materials, and substrate are your installer's responsibility. Inspect every piece before setting; installation is acceptance, and installed material cannot be returned or claimed.

Where can I use this pencil liner?

Use it on indoor walls: backsplash borders, niche and mirror frames, bath wall accents and fireplace surrounds. Pencil liners are not rated for floors, so choose a floor tile for those areas.

Does it need to be sealed?

Seal it before grouting to protect the porous, light-toned stone from stains. Reseal regularly, and about every 12 months in wet areas.

Which thinset and grout should I use?

White polymer-modified thinset keeps gray from showing through the light stone. Non-sanded grout is recommended for pencil liner joints. Back-butter each piece for good adhesion.

How do I order a sample?

What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. Porcelain samples are highly representative of the production run. Want to see the current lot before you commit? Ask us — we'll send photos.

How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

  • The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
  • Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
  • Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
  • Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Damage & Shortages
Report within 3 calendar days of delivery with photos of the pallet, packaging, and affected pieces to sales@tileandmosaicdepot.com. Verified claims are covered. Shortages of 1–5 pieces are refunded rather than reshipped — which is why we recommend ordering 10% overage.

30-Day Returns
Uninstalled tile in full, unopened boxes may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight is paid by the customer. Partial boxes, opened boxes, installed material, and samples are final sale.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

  • Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
  • Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
  • Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
