Sealing: Limestone is a porous stone and must be sealed prior to installation and before grouting. Apply a penetrating impregnating sealer rated for limestone and reseal every 12 months in wet areas such as showers, or every 1–2 years on floors. The honed finish, while more forgiving than polished, still requires consistent sealing to prevent staining from oils, wine, and cleaning products.

Cleaning: Clean regularly with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, as limestone is highly susceptible to etching from acidic substances. Wipe up spills promptly, especially citrus, wine, and coffee. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the honed surface over time.

Installation: Use a white or cream-toned polymer-modified thinset to avoid shadowing through the lighter stone. Back-butter each large-format tile in addition to applying thinset to the substrate to ensure full-coverage adhesion and prevent hollow spots. Use tile leveling clips during installation to maintain a flat plane across the large-format field. Allow for proper expansion joints per TCNA guidelines, especially in radiant-heat floor applications.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Color, veining, texture, shade, movement, finish, and sizing vary from piece to piece. Product photos and samples are a general reference and may not match the exact material you receive. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural stone — they are part of its beauty, not defects.

Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
