Sealing: Fossil Brown Limestone must be sealed with a penetrating impregnating sealer before installation and before grouting. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 12–18 months. The leathered finish is slightly more porous than a honed surface due to the open texture, so a high-quality sealer is essential to prevent staining from oils, grease, and moisture.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water and a soft mop or cloth. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or acidic or alkaline cleaners — limestone is calcium-based and will etch or dull when exposed to acids. Wipe spills promptly, especially oils and wine. The leathered finish is more forgiving of water spots than polished stone, but routine cleaning after wet use is still recommended.

Installation: Use a white or gray polymer-modified thinset mortar appropriate for natural stone (avoid orange or dark thinsets that may bleed through). Back-butter each tile in addition to spreading thinset on the substrate to ensure full coverage and prevent hollow spots in the large-format tile. Use tile leveling clips to maintain consistent grout joint alignment across the 12×24 format. Allow thinset to cure fully before grouting, and seal the tile before applying grout to prevent staining of the open leathered surface.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
