Sealing: Statuario marble must be sealed before grouting and regularly maintained with a penetrating, impregnating stone sealer. In wet areas such as showers, reseal every 6–12 months; in dry backsplash applications, once per year is typically sufficient. Because of its white background, consistent sealing is especially critical to prevent staining from oils, grease, and hard water minerals.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a mild dish soap diluted in warm water — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline cleaners, which will etch and dull the polished surface. The high-gloss finish of polished Statuario shows water spots, fingerprints, and soap residue more readily than honed finishes; dry the surface with a soft microfiber cloth after each use in wet areas.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray show-through on this pale, semi-translucent stone. Install sheets mesh-side down, aligning the chevron points carefully at seams for a continuous pattern — dry-lay several sheets before adhering to confirm alignment. Use non-sanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch; back-butter each sheet lightly in addition to combing the substrate to ensure full adhesive coverage and eliminate hollow spots.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.

Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
