Sealing: Calacatta Oliva marble should be sealed with a penetrating impregnating sealer before grouting and immediately after installation. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 6–12 months to prevent moisture infiltration and staining. The pale ivory ground of this stone is particularly susceptible to staining from oils, soaps, and pigmented products, so consistent sealing is essential.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a mild dish soap diluted in water — never use vinegar, lemon juice, bleach, or any acidic or abrasive cleaner, as these will etch and dull the honed surface. Wipe up spills immediately, especially from red wine, coffee, and oily substances. Avoid steam cleaning on a regular basis as prolonged heat and moisture can break down the sealer.

Installation: Always use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any grey bleed-through showing on the pale marble surface. For the small grout joints typical of a 2×2 mosaic, use a non-sanded (unsanded) grout at 1/16″ to 1/8″ joint width. Back-butter the mesh sheet lightly in addition to troweling the substrate for full coverage and a secure bond. Allow sheets to fully cure before grouting, and use a soft grout float to avoid scratching the honed face.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. Before You Install

Order roughly 10% extra to allow for cuts, waste, and future repairs.
Blend tiles from multiple boxes as you work to achieve the most natural, balanced appearance.
Dry-lay and inspect the full layout before setting a single tile.
Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product, so review everything carefully first.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
