Sealing: Ivory travertine is highly porous and must be sealed prior to grouting and again after installation is complete. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom floors, reseal every 6–12 months with a premium penetrating (impregnating) stone sealer. The tumbled finish, while matte in appearance, does not reduce porosity — consistent sealing is critical to prevent staining and moisture infiltration.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap or specially formulated travertine cleaner only. Never use vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, bleach, or any acidic or alkaline product, as these will etch and erode the stone surface. Wipe up spills — particularly oils, wine, and acidic liquids — immediately. Avoid abrasive scrub pads that can dislodge grout from the natural voids.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to prevent any dark adhesive from showing through the lighter stone. Back-butter each sheet in addition to troweling the substrate for full coverage. Use unsanded grout for joints under 1/8 inch; for the slightly larger gaps common in opus patterns, a fine sanded grout may be appropriate — verify joint width before selecting. Fill any unfilled travertine voids with grout or a color-matched epoxy filler during grouting. Align mesh sheet edges carefully on the substrate before pressing to maintain consistent pattern flow across sheets.

Important: Inspect all tile before installation. Variations in color, veining, and texture between pieces are natural characteristics of genuine stone — not defects. What a Sample Shows
Color, texture, finish, and overall character. Because natural stone varies piece to piece, one sample represents the material but can't show the full range of a lot. How Your Order Ships
In-stock orders leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days. Stone, porcelain, and mosaic ship on a pallet via scheduled LTL freight and arrive 2–10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination. You'll get tracking and the carrier's name by email the day it ships.

Freight Delivery — What to Expect

The carrier calls you first. Every freight delivery is by appointment. Expect a call or text to set a window before the truck is dispatched.
Curbside delivery. The driver unloads to the curb or driveway. Freight does not include carrying material indoors or into a garage — plan for a helper or a hand truck.
Someone 18+ must sign. Inspect the pallet before signing. Note any damage, shortage, or broken shrink-wrap on the delivery receipt — this is what makes a claim valid.
Truck access. The address must be accessible to a full-size freight truck with enough space to unload.

Natural Variation
Quarried stone varies in color, veining, shade, movement, and finish from piece to piece and from lot to lot. Screen photos and samples show the range, not the exact tile you'll receive. Variation is the nature of the material and is never grounds for return. Porcelain is far more consistent, but shade and pattern can still shift between production runs — buy your full quantity in one order.

Before You Install

Order 10% overage. Covers cuts, breakage, and spares for future repairs. Reorders may not match in tone or lot.
Inspect every piece before setting. Pull from all boxes, blend, and dry-lay the full area. Installation is acceptance — no claims are honored once tile is set.
Hire a qualified installer. Natural stone and large-format porcelain require experience with the material. Your installer is responsible for substrate, setting materials, and method.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a penetrating sealer and re-sealed periodically in wet and high-traffic areas. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner only — vinegar, bleach, ammonia, and acidic cleaners etch marble, limestone, travertine, and onyx permanently. Porcelain does not require sealing. Outdoor stone weathers and shifts in tone over time; this is expected.
