Sealing: Seagrass Limestone is a porous natural stone and must be sealed prior to grouting and again after installation. In wet areas such as showers and bathroom walls, reseal every 12 months with a penetrating stone sealer to prevent moisture absorption and staining. The honed finish, while less susceptible to etching than polished, still requires consistent sealer maintenance.

Cleaning: Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid acidic products such as vinegar, citrus-based cleaners, or grout haze removers containing acid, as these will etch and pit the limestone surface. Blot spills promptly — especially oils, wine, and acidic liquids — to prevent staining.

Installation: Use white polymer-modified thinset mortar to avoid any gray bleed-through on this pale, warm-toned stone. Ensure the wall substrate is flat and plumb before installing. Back-butter each piece for full coverage and use tile spacers to maintain consistent grout joints. For chair rail applications, use non-sanded grout in joints under 1/8 inch. Allow thinset to cure fully before grouting.

Sealing & Care
Natural stone should be sealed with a quality penetrating sealer before and after installation, and re-sealed periodically in wet or high-traffic areas. Clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products, bleach, vinegar, and ammonia, which can permanently etch the surface. Outdoor installations may weather or change tone over time with exposure.
